Players looking forward to experiencing Crown Wars: The Black Prince, the latest title from NACON, will have to wait a bit longer.
NACON and developer Artefacts Studio recently announced that they will be postponing the launching of their turn-based strategy Crown Wars: The Black Prince. Instead of this March 14th, the medieval RPG's debut was pushed back to a later date. Creators are now planning to release the game on May 23rd, 2024.
The delay, according to a press statement both from NACON and Artefacts Studio, will allow the team more time to work on the game.
They revealed they gained more insights on the current state of Crown Wars: The Black Prince after conducting recent beta and demo events via PC. In turn, they decided to reschedule its launch.
"This additional development time will be used to fine-tune several elements of the game," they wrote.
This will also allow developers to incorporate 'some improvements that players requested', to provide an optimal gameplay upon release, the creators added.
In the meantime, NACON published another trailer for Crown Wars: The Black Prince. It is titled Crown Wars: The Black Prince - Official Domain Overview Trailer." The one-minute video explained how the domain, the stronghold where players prepare for missions, works.
The gameplay preview opened with players learning that they inherited a domain on the brink of collapse. As the last heir of a fallen bloodline, it is up to the players to rebuild their family's influence and legacy. To do so, they need to create a base - the domain - for their strategies and plans.
The new trailer also offered glimpses of the game's core combat mechanics. Players can position their troops, and take advantage of the terrain around them. Unit types like Crusaders, Duelists, and Beast Masters are shown. Their strengths and weaknesses were also revealed.
Crown Wars: The Black Prince is a turn-based tactics and strategy game, with elements of dark fantasy. Set in a 'dystopian mediaeval period' during the 100-Years War. There, players find themselves in the middle of bloody conflicts among royal families.
Crown Wars: The Black Prince will be available for Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 5, and PC. / ###
