WWE 2K15 is a smaller but shiner box when compared to its predecessor and well ahead of its current-gen brother. In fact, I would be surprised if 2K and Yuke's continue the current-gen version of the franchise moving forward, but reaching as wide of an audience as possible may sustain it for a while. While it may lack more than several features that we might have taken for granted in the last handful of WWE titles, WWE 2K15's gameplay enhancements are a necessary boon and provides a well-invested platform for its future.

Yuke’s and Visual Concepts ended up with a “one step forward, two steps back” approach while developing WWE 2K15. The two things they managed to get right are the lifelike graphics and sim-based style of gameplay. In order to achieve this though, they had to sacrifice other things that made the previous games so enjoyable. This will certainly upset longtime fans and possibly leave newcomers wondering why the series was so popular in the first place.

Graphically, I didn’t play the last-gen versions so I’m unable to compare the two, but WWE 2K15 does look decent on PS4. ...WWE 2K15 definitely falls flat in most areas. The roster is outdated, the gameplay slow, and the modes lackusters; but, there's a lot of potential. With the addition of MyCareer mode, we have foundation that can be expanded upon.
