WRC 6 also includes: all of the official 2016 content, including Rally China, 11 Super Special Stages on a 1:1 scale, local split-screen multiplayer, worldwide leaderboards and new online challenges every week, all the designated cars and courses in very high definition, two brand new modes, even more spectacular game cameras and free access to the entire 2017 eSports WRC!

WRC 6 isn’t easy either. While I didn’t find myself getting frustrated, I did have a hell of a time earning respectable times against the AI, even on the easiest setting. The game doesn’t seem to be much of an upgrade from WRC 5, but with new courses, vehicles and drivers – it may be enough for WRC fans to warrant a purchase.

WRC 6 reminds me a lot of the PlayStation 2-era Evolution-developed WRC games; it’s an earnest attempt to capture the spirit of a niche motorsport series and, most importantly, it feels good to play thanks to a wide selection of tight-quarters race tracks, and decent handling. It might not hold a candle to Dirt Rally in its car selection or look and feel, but it’s not bad for developer Kylotonn’s sophomore effort on the series.

WRC 6 is a product for a very narrow base. Fans of the World Rally Championship who are looking for a faithful re-creation of real world tracks and cars will find that here, but outside audiences, even within the world of rally racing video games will find that WRC 6 offers little beyond its core experience to retain players past a few hours of gameplay.
