A lone warrior stands on a strange shore, his mind clouded and his past forgotten, but an unstoppable force drives him on. He is Adam, guilty of a great sin and drawn to this place by powers as secret as they are terrifying. As his home, the Kingdom of Cavanis, languishes in blasphemy, Adam must face a series of trials in a desperate quest for redemption.

Sinner: Sacrifice for Redemption is an ambitious game that brings something new to an increasingly popular style of action game. While it seems like it's missing a lick of paint to make sure that its aesthetics are as strong as its mechanics, it's still a smart step forward and a good example of how we can pay homage to the beloved works of others with originality.
Sinner: Sacrifice for Redemption is an experiment that was inevitable. Somebody was going to eventually make a boss-rush anti-soulslike, and Darkstar Games did a great job realising the potential by perverting traditional RPG character building and betraying achievement conventions. It may wear the skin of a "soulslike," but in actuality there really is nothing quite like it.
Sinner: Sacrifice for Redemption is no doubt heavily inspired by the Dark Souls series from its vaguely delivered plot, hit box porn, steep difficulty curve and overall look and feel. It’s by no means as refined as the titles it draws inspiration from though as initially challenging game play becomes easy quite quickly. It’s still one hell of an achievement for an independent team of only seven people and it will surely impress fans of FromSoftware’s releases.
