Like an obstreperous child, NBA Live 15 is not bad, but it can be hard to love. Its real impact will have to be measured later, in the bar it sets for successive editions and whether they clear that. With no truly fair comparison to make, this is the last time NBA Live can claim credit for fulfilling basic obligations. But at least it no longer plays or looks like an experiment gone wrong.

It is definitely fun to play, but the late game AI and lack of any real additions or modes is sorely disappointing. I hate to be the person that always says “next year’s game should finally be great”, because this is now two years of disappointment. I don’t see EA Sports getting too many more chances to make this series great, which is a shame because competition benefits everyone.

In general, that's how I'd sum up NBA Live 15: an improvement. It's a better looking game than NBA Live 14, and a better playing one, but "better," in this case, does not directly translate to "good." Live 15 is still too shallow to hang with 2K's game, but it represents a glimmer of hope that this series could eventually provide some legitimate competition to 2K Sports somewhere down the road.
