Ultimately, My Hero One’s Justice will entertain those who it’s made for, but it wont impress them. It’s yet another flashy anime-based fighter that sacrifices deep mechanics in pursuit of explosive battles, and while there’s nothing wrong with that, it limits the game’s long-term appeal. Also, thanks to its story mode being quite inaccessible to those who aren’t familiar with the series, it’s not even a good entry point for those wanting to take their first steps into its thoroughly entertaining world.
It's a shame My Hero One's Justice's Story mode doesn't do a good job introducing the world of My Hero Academia, with several important narrative beats either missing or revealed through subtitles while you're busy trying to fight. The offline modes against AI don't do much for the game either. However, One's Justice's combat is both accessible and enjoyable.
My Hero One’s Justice is a decent first attempt at producing a My Hero Academia fighting game. Its visuals pop off the screen thanks to the hype-inducing battles and art style that sticks close to the source material. Mechanically, the battle system is simple. But it manages to offer a few deeper elements that make each and every character fun to learn and master. This arena fighter is the perfect party game for a living room full of hardcore My Hero Academia fans.
