Let's face facts: If you're looking for something epic or thoroughly challenging, Fruit Ninja Kinect 2 is not what you're looking for. ...But what Fruit Ninja Kinect 2 can give you is a welcome, silly diversion. ...The controls on the Kinect are solid, and the multitude of game modes turn this downloadable title into exactly what it was on your smart device: a fun, somewhat addictive time-waster. And frankly, there's not a darn thing wrong with just some good, old-fashioned pointless fun from time to time.

Ultimately, Fruit Ninja Kinect 2 is a game that improves upon its predecessor in almost every conceivable way. Anything less would be unacceptable given that this feels somewhat more like a remaster of sorts than a true sequel. There aren't any major alterations, as the Fruit Ninja concept can't be shaken up too dramatically. But hey, it turns out that frantically slicing fruit still makes for a nice little distraction, regardless of whether it's on a tablet, a phone, or a television.

The key thing to take away with Fruit Ninja Kinect 2 is that even though it has some issues and is essentially more of the same, there is still plenty of fun to be had here. Given the game mechanic, there wasn't really much that Halfbrick could do that would work without ruining the purity of the experience. They're to be applauded for adding depth to the single-player modes, even if the multiplayer experience has issues. Outside of the noted problems though, the game controls perfectly and doesn't miss a step, and if you were a fan of the original then this is an absolute no-brainer.
