Dishonored 2 occasionally stumbles under the weight of the almost too-intelligent denizens of its "Whalepunk" setting. But despite a murderous new sense of difficulty and a few surprising, if minor, shortcomings, Dishonored 2 is a much more fleshed-out realization of the world of Dunwall and the star-crossed Kaldwin family. For such a miserable, conflicted place, Dunwall and the Isles are a place worth exploring, something gaming could use a lot more of.
Trumping the first in nearly every way, Dishonored 2 is at the very top of the list of "must play" first-person action games in 2016. Causing bloody chaos or sticking to the shadows, Arkane gives players the tools to run wild in this new world. This brand of gameplay combined with a beautiful presentation and plenty of customization leads to fun playthroughs of Dishonored 2 whether its your first time or your fifth.
Dishonored 2 takes everything you loved about Dishonored and improves upon it without becoming bloated. It's a beautifully designed, layered game, stuffed with hidden gems and secret stories. Also you can stab people in mid air.
