Danger Zone 2 takes the crash testing action out of the Test Area and onto real public roads. A high speed driving game featuring speed, traffic and crashes, Danger Zone 2 lets players loose onto the Freeways of the USA, the Motorways of the UK and the Autovias of Spain. Using advanced real world physics and the power of Unreal Engine, Danger Zone 2 lets players ‘crash for cash’ and compete against each other to cause the most chaos on the road.

I had high hopes for the original game but came away underwhelmed. Danger Zone 2, however, rights some of the issues with a much better visual style and far more interesting courses. Some wonky physics, repetitive, bland background detail and a lack of things to do, lets the game down on occasion. Though, the core gameplay loop is still as fun as it’s ever been, smashing through traffic and causing carnage is a blast.

In any case, Danger Zone 2 is hugely enjoyable. The only thought on my mind as I finished up getting all of its platinum awards was that I wanted more. I loved completing its new Run Up challenges, checking traffic, performing jumps and boosting like a maniac. And I loved figuring out the best way to initiate each crash, enabling me to explode my car and pick up all the cash bonuses along the way.

There are a few niggling bugs that came up as well, like cars appearing out of nowhere and instafail crashes that make you retry the course even when you're at the point you're meant to be crashing into traffic, but all-in-all Three Fields Entertainment has done a great job looking at where the first Danger Zone struggled and turning it up a notch for the second.
