Bob is an ordinary person living a simple measured life. Outside in mid-December, it's snowing a little. After stopping by for groceries and a large pack of ice cream for his daughter, Bob leaves the store and is about to go to the car, but then he slips, falls and let’s go of the full cart. The cart rolls and crashes into an elderly but well-dressed and stately-looking man, knocking him to the ground. Bob tries to get up and run to help the man, but in the blink of an eye everything around freezes, the clouds thicken and a bloody dark fog envelops the area. Not having time to recover, Bob looks at the old man and is horrified, a dark figure with bright red eyes rises above the ground, opens his mouth and says in an eerie voice:

Pitiful brat, I will deprive you of your human appearance, you will forever try to get out of the closed loop of punishment and only hope for deliverance from suffering will move you!

Before the dark figure can finish, Bob feels himself starting to fail, falling underground and beginning to turn inside out. Feeling incredible pain, Bob lands on his new feet in an angular cave...

Replaced is a 2.5D sci-fi retro-futuristic action platformer where you play as R.E.A.C.H. - an artificial intelligence trapped in a human body against its own will. Replaced combines cinematic platforming, pixel art and free-flow action combat set in an alternative 1980's.

In this 2D platformer you have to watch out for spikes, obstacles and enemies and make the right moves to find the key to the right door! DRIVE A STOR INSPIRED BY MYTHS
The story of RIN, her siblings, and their Creator, the Teller of Tales, was inspired by the well-known ancient myth about Cronus and his conflict with his children. It also touches upon the overall passing of gods who must be replaced by new gods. The creation myths seemed to match perfectly Metroidvania's dark fairy tale - no trace of man, but the importance of magic. An important motif and another layer of the script is the conflict between being obedient to authority - the father (the Creator) or freedom - the free will and responsibility for oneself and one's decisions. The story offers three possible endings based on your choices.

REKINDLE YOUR MAGIC
There are 18 elemental spells from three categories: attack (10), defense (5), and utility (3). The spells are created of Aspects of Magic (5) and Spell Patterns. Then, they can be enchanted with a currency by Lesser Runes (adding more damage) or upgraded by an upgrade scheme and Great Runes (changing the effect). The quick slot allows assigning 3 spells at a time but gives an option to quickly swap to another spell set. Mathematically, considering the combination of Lesser Runes, Great Runes, and Upgrades, there are as many as 7776 spells variants. As you progress, the spells can be disassembled in order to use the aspects components for another assembly.

On your exploration journey, you will fight many small creatures formed from their locations such as Slimes, Mosquitoes, but also bigger creepy beasts like Rats or Spitting Plants. The main fights though, will not only require a neat set of spells and skills but most importantly the decisions to take based on your will. As RIN, the sixth child of the Creator, you will confront five bosses - your unknown siblings.
