Sleeping Dogs catapults players into the role of undercover cop Wei Shen, tasked with taking down one of the world’s most fearsome criminal organizations from the inside... the Hong Kong Triads. This is a fantastic game. Where some strive for realism while sacrificing fun, or focus on fun to the detriment of realism, Sleeping Dogs manages the impressive feat of finding a between the two. The characters are universally interesting, the story is engaging, there is never a shortage of things to keep you busy, and it all comes packaged in a gritty and visceral virtual version of Hong Kong
Even if it has a few slight issues, they can be forgiven when leveraged against the expertly produced content brought to the table. Anyone would be hard-fought not to be both entertained and moved by the time the credits roll. Even so, there will be much more to complete after said end. Sleeping Dogs is good; very good.

It has all the open world elements tons of collectibles and outfits to buy, a vibrant city that looks fantastic but a convoluted layout makes navigating it irritating. It's got the basics of a free-running mechanic, but doesn't provide enough opportunities where climbing and sliding is useful
