Stars look and act just like their real world counterparts, but the alien-looking, heavily goateed draft classes need big-time makeovers. Broadcasting legend Marv Alberts returns with Steve Kerr to provide solid play-by-play. The new freestyle passing controls are fun, but EA questionably dropped its solid L-trigger post play system. Glaring issues like basketballs clipping through players and weak sideline negotiating keep the otherwise solid gameplay down. This franchise needs a complete reboot.

There are a few quirks in the action, such as a glitchy ball and sometimes-disinterested teammates, but the action is pretty sharp. The pick-and-roll system is easy to take advantage of, and the huge amount of plays at your disposal make the game more strategic than previous basketball sims. Despite a few faults, NBA Live 10 is a fun game and a strong addition to the franchise.

EA is taking strides toward the right direction, but this one's just not polished enough to bring in the noob's (or the 2K converts for that matter). However, if you're a fan and haven't played any other entries in a while, Live 10 is a no-brainer. Oh, it's also worth noting that if you are a hip-hop fan, the soundtrack is pretty phenomenal.
