Blending the heady thrills of exploration and puzzle-solving with the adrenaline rush of real-time 3D battles, Kameo: Elements of Power is an ambitious title from the makers of GoldenEye and Banjo-Kazooie. The concept mixes combat action with creature transformations, letting the title's female star morph into monsters and use their special powers against others as Kameo searches out and battles ever-present evil. The Xbox 360 game also features multiplayer co-op play, both online and offline.

Kameo is a game that will last players weeks but not months. The core gameplay is intelligent and almost always fun with a few areas that boarder on frustrating. While the game isn't quite the Zelda killer that it's sometimes been touted as its still a fun adventure that will appeal to a broad audience.

Kameo is absolutely a great game for as long as it lasts, and it's made even better thanks to its state-of-the-art presentation, made possible by the Xbox 360's sheer muscle. Straight out of the gate, Kameo: Elements of Power sets a high standard for how stimulating, creative, and entertaining this classic blend of action and exploration can be on the Xbox 360.

Generally, when a game looks this good, we get a little suspicious. There’s usually some sort of nasty problem lurking beneath the shiny surface: the game’s too short, the action gets a little herky-jerky during crucial fights or it’s just plain no fun. But don't let Kameo's good looks fool you. The game isn’t without some minor flaws, but they don’t detract from an otherwise excellent action adventure.
