Summary
Retro shooter action and RPG elements are combined in this new downloadable third-person shooter. God Mode combines non-linear gameplay, fast and frantic shooting, hordes of on-screen enemies, a fully functional online coop mode, and features visuals and gameplay that rival that of a full-priced boxed title. Matches rarely--if ever--play out the same, as dozens of in-game modifiers can significantly alter the gameplay on the fly.

Still, these didn’t get in my way while playing, and if you keep in mind that this is a budget release when setting expectations of how many maps, guns, and customization options it should contain, there’s plenty of fast-paced action to be had gunning all the way through Hades – one weeping classicist at a time.
The aesthetics of the game create an illusion of quality. God Mode, at its core, feels as cheap as the price tag might suggest. The one-note shooting can’t sustain the game through all five maps. I’m not sure I feel comfortable recommending God Mode to anyone but a bored gamer looking for a single night of fun with friends. A couple of times while playing God Mode I saw what the game might have been. Unfortunately, thanks to odd design choices, Atlus’ shooter doesn’t live up to its potential.
Playing solo is incredibly difficult and very little fun, and once people stop playing on Live, God Mode’s as good as dead
