It is in production values that Just Dance 2016 excels, being cleaner, wilder and more grandiose in its desire to impress. The choreography performed by the professional dancers continues to be entirely accessible to both young and old alike, and you’ll feel a sense of renewed vigour after even shorter sessions.
Ultimately, with the antics of the on-screen characters, zany actions, video playback and favourite tracks, it doesn’t really matter even if Just Dance 2016 is making a very generous interpretation of your moves because there are enough layers of distraction in place to keep you happy. We skipped past the modern hits to head straight for the silly stuff. Like the William Tell Overture.
There is a lot of fun to be had here in a very polished formula and with very inventive music videos. There is a greater expanded online and social presence in 2016's version, with the new Showtime video recording mode, as well as sending other players challenges. However when the experience comes alive and starts to get in the groove is with other people in real life. It is a throwback and shows that gamers have not forgotten how fun it is to play games in the same room as others.
