Conclusively, Sonic & All Stars Racing Transformed is a very enjoyable karting game with fantastic tracks, a nice variety of modes and a great (though somewhat depressive) throwback to the many franchises SEGA owns. It suffers only slightly from an art style not optimized on every track and a boring score. The water segments hold the game back a bit but will not bother you as much once you get used to them. I recommend this to anyone who enjoys or is impartial to a kart racing game, as the core concept is very enjoyable and worked out superbly.

Aside from these visual and performance issues, it’s the same entertaining and pleasingly substantial racer we enjoyed on home consoles. But in light of its technical flaws, we’d only cautiously recommend buying it on Vita. If you own a PS3, Xbox 360 or Wii U, you’d be better off with any of those versions, while those seeking a fast-paced racer that really makes their Vita sing should consider WipEout 2048 ahead of this.

The many course settings and designs make the overall structure seem somewhat uneven, even if that's not a problem directly attributable to the game, but rather the heterogeneous nature of the title. Still, with a Mario Kart for Nintendo Wii U still non-existent, Sega All-Stars Racing Transformed is a good compromise: a fun, accessible and well-crafted racer that deserves your attention.
