Sure, it’s silly, superficial, and more than a little bit ridiculous, but that’s what makes it so darn fun. And if you dip into this Senran Kagura offering, chances are you’ll want to delve into the others as well. Buyers, don’t leave your Vita at home, ‘cause it’s Senran Kagura at night and it’s bouncin’, bouncin’.
As a game, Senran Kagura Shinovi Versus will no doubt be unfairly judged based on the sexualised portrayal of its all-female cast, but those who can look beyond its titillating nature will find an accessible, enjoyable brawler. Balancing issues and a backstabbing camera put a limit on the fun, but a diverse cast and surprisingly competent narrative should keep fans fighting well into the late hours – just remember to play it beneath the sheets.
It’s so shameless in its sexual nature that it borders on comical and that level of near-parody gives it personality along with its titillation. ...A great story with plenty of unlockables will give you lots to do, and if it still doesn’t catch your eye, the online modes will. As a goofy little fighter for the Vita, Senran Kagura: Shinovi Versus provides a solid amount of content and substance behind its shameless fan service, and as a result, transcends it.
Sure, there’s a lot of fanservice to be had within, but I wouldn’t say it’s offensive in any fashion unless the female body makes you uncomfortable. For those looking for a fun brawler with a huge amount of content to unlock and plenty of methods of progression, Senran Kagura: Shinovi Versus is your game.
It’s not a bad thing to be a light-hearted, fan service game, but at least be a good one. The lackluster combat, combined with some terrible camera work and more loading screens than Lindsay Lohan mugshots, make for a game that just isn’t very good. I find it a hard game to recommend anyone spending 20+ hours in, unless you are a fan of the series or just like looking at boobs that move like they are being juggled by invincible hands.
Senran Kagura: Shinovi Versus is an entertaining romp, that will probably engross you for the length of time needed to complete 2 or 3 of the games 4 storylines - but unless you can find yourself lost in the games dizzying amount of fanservice, all that's left to find is a decent beat-em-up, with some surprising character to back it up.
Sebelum kamu trauma.
It has the potential to be infuriating fan-service objectification, and it turns out cheeky and genuinely fun. It’s a pleasant surprise, and a hard balance to strike. But I can’t help but recommend Senran Kagura Shinovi Versus for some mindless amusement.
With a great combat system, tons of customization options, some great characters and a few hundred missions to go through, Shinovi Versus is a must have for anyone who enjoys great combat - as long as they're not overly sensitive to fanservice or sex jokes.
Though some gamers may be discouraged by the overly sexualized characters and the game’s borderline erotic dialogue, those who look pastt will find a surprisingly fun action game with some humorous dialogue, fun combat, and addictive character customization.
