LEGO the Hobbit for the PS Vita is a fun and charming game. While some fans have strong issues with the handheld version of the LEGO games, I find them to be quite enjoyable. If you’re one of those people, this game isn’t going to change your opinion, but if you play it for what it is (as opposed to what it’s not) you will find a really good game filled with entertaining content that will keep you busy for hours.

Lego The Hobbit: The Video Game marks a significant step backwards for the Lego games on handheld, then, but the basics of what makes the games in the series great are still here, and all of it is still good enough to earn a lukewarm recommendation if you're buying it for a younger player.

LEGO: The Hobbit is not a bad game. It’s not even a bad LEGO game. In fact, it’s one of the stronger entries to bear the name for quite a while. It looks great, the gameplay has enough variety to remain interesting and the sampled movie dialogue (and that mesmerising score) add an air of gravitas to the whole shebang. But, it is still just another LEGO game and, as such, does little to make it stand out from its ever-increasing crowd of peers.
