Grand Kingdom has a lot of really great ideas: its map setup, its use of obstacles to force you to think tactically, and its online integration are all great. But once you get past the game's second layer, it starts to plateau, which is disappointing. Whether it's more unique enemies, multi-layed class synergy, or more consequential online wars, Grand Kingdom feels like it's missing that little something extra. With that, I really hope there's a sequel. I'd hate to see all these great ideas go to waste.
Grand Kingdom is a solid strategy/RPG, especially if you've been hankering for something new and different. I am interested to see where the series goes in the future. It feels like it has a solid foundation, and I'd love to see that expanded with even more reasons to stick around after you polish off the campaign and play some online matches.
With its brilliant gameplay style and wealth of customisation options, not to mention the fun and strategically minded combat, Grand Kingdom is a fantastic tactical RPG that truly showcases why the genre is perfect on PS Vita.
