Summary

It’s time for classmating! Monsters have invaded the world of Aterra, and only a few special individuals, imbued with the power of the Star God, are equipped to fight it. With only a small group of warriors and a narrow window of time in which their powers are at their peak, the solution is clear: combine your Star power to make magical Star Children to boost up your forces in battle! The life of a student can be complicated when you’re exploring dungeons, fighting monsters, AND trying to maintain a high school lifestyle.

The dating side is just interesting enough to keep you roped in, and the battle system grows on you after a bit of time to be something pretty rewarding. When I got into it, I couldn't put this game down. Outside the music and presentation, it's not outstanding in any way, but the mix of dungeon crawling and dating sim worked for me.

What ultimately brings down Conception 2, however, is that none of its elements manage to rise above a general feeling of mediocrity. The combat is too dull and repetitious to ever be addictive. The dating sim, jiggly boobs and all, is interesting, but too limited to carry the game on its own.

Conception 2: Children of the Seven Stars isn't a race for the skilled, but a marathon for the determined. I spent more than 45 hours exploring the game's repetitive dungeons, wooing its generic characters and desperately trying to care about what I was doing.
