Ubisoft's other established franchise is also making waves in the Switch's co-op community. Wielding an unusual array of friendly looking weapons, take part in strategy shooting action ala the alien vs human battles of the XCOM series.

4. Shovel Knight: Treasure Trove

From one of the most beloved developers in the indie circles. Yacht Club Games' platforming series has its roots on kickstarter, showing off the meticulous detail of their 8bit world through the eyes of their shovel wielding knight. Now, contained in this Treasure Trove edition is the complete knightly experience, from Shovel Knight to the the dark Specter of Torment. One of the most interesting 2D platformers in the market, play alongside a palette-switched friend and run through the Shovel Knight storyline on steroids.

Impressing players through its quirky premise, responsive platforming, and convincing pixel aesthetics, it has a PlayScore of 8.59

3. Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze

The Donkey Kong series might have had a reputation for a being a little unforgiving, this port to the Switch has a few new features that make it a more fun and casual for first-time players. Travel to DKs icy island, and work together with Dixie, Cranky, and Diddy to restore the heat to their tropical banana paradise. The release of Sonic Mania was already a fount of good news for fans of SEGA's blue hedgehog.
