I found this game a few months ago and really wanted to get it until i was discouraged by a few reviews. But after a while, i decided to try it and it was amazing.

Rising Hell is a Vertical-Side-Scrolling Roguelite. Where your goal is to climb up and kill bosses, going through different worlds and fighting new enemies, unlocking different characters and vibing with the metal rock music that fits every biome of the game.

(The information of the story).

**Story:** Lucifer has gone rogue. He has betrayed his brethrens. Riddled by his unholy lust to overthrow heaven's throne, he has sparked a great war. One against all regions. In the end, he efforts were futile. The heavens sealed his helpless body, binding it on a root of a tree. The root grew into a gigantic tree called the Zaqqoum. Realms of hell were then created inside the trunk, a prison where lucifer's armies of fallen demons are awaiting for their king's revival. But some were impatient and sought many ways to break his seal.

“Kill them all, and you should be freed from this place” And so, you did. There are 4 bosses in each biome. The first biome is basically hell.

And on your quest to try to escape from the damn place, you'll hear music playing in the background, you could disable it but it's such a shame if you do. The metal rock music is so nice and gives me the vibe. The music gets better the more you play and when you eventually reach a different biome, you'll be faced with different soundtracks. It's so good, you sound check the soundtrack out. It's similar to Bullet Per Minute's soundtrack, they are both rogulite and about hell and things like that.

There are 3 Characters so far, the official Rising Hell's twitter mentioned that they are adding new characters soon. Each of the 3 characters so far are cool and have their own different skills. With the first character you play as has a fist. Punching and upper-cutting enemies. While the other two are long range, one of them has a gun and another is shooting a ball that explodes on impact.

And when it's roguelite, there are shops, and you spend red crystals that you can obtain by killing enemies. The shop has three skills that they sell, they don't sell any healing things. Only skills. For example, if you kill 4 enemies in a row, you will heal 2% of your health. Mostly damaging skills.

It's roguelite and it's really hard, you might die alot and when you die, you'll earn a purple gem or some sort that can be used to buy another character or a permanent item that gives you buff as well as a debuff to make it a little fair.

These rare purple crystals unlock relics that can unlock power-ups and two additional characters. These new characters add a whole new dynamic and fighting technique which varies gameplay and increases replayability.“

Enemies in this game are cool at first but after repeating the run and seeing the same old enemy type is quite boring. Some enemies, especially bosses, shoot projectiles, lasers and will do tons of damage. Skills is required to win the game, unless you're extremely lucky and got 5revives. Bosses, like ordinary bosses, have a move set and they attack in a pattern, "first they do that then after they do that then that then after that they do that."

"These enemies have strong melee abilities, bouncing projectiles, or super speed. Between these stages, you can visit Mephisto the Trickster. A character who provides additional power-ups at the cost of your other attributes such as defense or health. The climax of the level is the boss. A high-powered demon with multiple attacks such as bullet hell style projectiles, lighting strikes, and laser beams take off serious chunks of health."

There are two gamemodes, Conquest and classical game mode.

What i don't really like about Rising hell is the combat system, it's like Skul the hero slayer's combat system but a budget version, there are only a few combat attacks you can do and barely any skills or powers you can mix to make you overpowered. For the first character, you can upper-cut, you can punch and dash but that's basically it and that what makes it plain and boring. **The Combo and Combat system is mediocre, it's okay, but it could be improved to make the combat more fun and interesting.**

Why I rated Rising Hell a \_/10?. **Rising hell is amazing don't get me wrong, but combat is plain and boring, with only a few combos you could do, it would be cool if they were to add permanent powers for your characters. And there are barely any machinics in the game to make it more interesting, once you finish the game, 79% of the time, you'll leave as there is nothing else to do. It feels like the game could have been alot better, the music was fantastic but the gameplay and mediocre combat made it quite boring after a few runs.**

**But it's only $10. Which is worth it.**
