Pros:

*   The story of the game is really innovative and familiar at the same time.
*   It welcomes players from the Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, and Dynasty Warriors, but also welcomes newer faces too.
*   There is not much of a learning curve.
*   Aside from the main story, the game has a lot of side content to satisfy the player's needs, containing 2 characters only unlockable by completing side-missions.
*   The post-game content is enormous too, as compared to other games. It offers players a lot to do and many new things to unlock for the advanced, including 2 characters exclusive post-game.
*   The cutscene graphics are amazing and really improves upon the Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild. It fits well with this version of Hyrule.
*   Re-playability is amazing

Cons:

*   **(SPOILERS)** The game was marketed wrongly. It was portrayed as a prequel to the Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild. However, this is not the case. Only the first introductory cutscene takes place in that game's world, and the rest of the game takes place in a seperate world, independent of that game. There are a few similarities and parallels in the beginning, but the ending of Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity is completely different than that of Breath of the Wild.
*   The game has severe issues with the frame rate. The visuals are stunning , but when the frame rate slows down during the cutscenes and combat, it takes away from the overall experience.
*   The side content, mainly the Divine Beast missions feel extremely repetitive and mundane. There is nothing that intrigues the player and make them want to complete certain missions which feel like repeats of some story quests.

There is more paid DLC awaiting; not yet released when this review is being written, so hopefully, that will fix some of the game's glaring issues for those who purchase it.

The game offers and in-depth world and great combat. Players from Breath of the Wild and from previous 'musou' or 'warriors' games must play this game as it is a stepping stone and entry point for people new to that genre.
