Zoids Wild: Blast Unleashed is the Zoids game fans have been waiting for. Gorgeously-animated character models and playstyles give each Zoid their own unique feel. It may not seem like it on the surface, but Blast Unleashed is robust in its fighting techniques and allows for accessible gameplay. It’s easy to pick up, but difficult to master.
Zoids Wild: Blast Unleashed is a button-mashy, overly simplistic fighter that's aimed at young kids but doesn't even manage to lift its game enough to satisfy a junior audience on any level outside of very basic fan service. There's a serious lack of modes or variety here, especially for the not-insignificant price tag, and what is included is let down by a lazy story mode and some shockingly simple enemy AI.
Overall, Zoids Wild: Blast Unleashed was quite a bit more fun than initially expected. More than just a simple licensed title aimed exclusively at fans of the franchise, this a fairly straightforward but robust arena fighting game that might get the younger generation into the genre the same way Dragon Ball Z: Budokai Tenkaichi did for the Nintendo GameCube and PS2 generation.
