Overall, Yoshi’s Crafted World is hours of fun for you and your whole family. Being able to step into a world with Yoshi as your main character will bring glee to any fans heart. He acts just as you remember from Super Mario World with all new tricks up his sleeve. For $59.99 USD you can own a copy of Yoshi’s Crafted World and you will not regret it.

Combining its playful (yet awful) music, cute art direction, and easy gameplay, Yoshi’s Crafted World is a relaxing experience that was quite refreshing. It was nice to just pick up the controller and feel like a winner. Sometimes you need that palette cleanser of a video game to come along and Yoshi’s Crafted World was just that for me.

Yoshi’s Crafted World brings together everything that makes the series so amazing to begin with, and expands on it exponentially with new mechanics and design decisions. It’s not perfect, but it’s a magical adventure in creativity from beginning to end and a textbook example of Nintendo’s dedication to pure fun.

There’s plenty of replayability with Yoshi’s Crafted World as well. The costumes and reversed levels give you plenty of reason to play through each world multiple times, and it’s just a lot of good ol’ Nintendo fun. However, the co-op is absolutely broken and made me want to just quit playing. I sincerely hope that Nintendo patches those issues because anyone who wants this game for its multiplayer is going to be incredibly disappointed.

Dating back to the original Yoshi’s Island, the Yoshi series has almost always been known for its unique art designs and Yoshi’s Crafted World once again does this by making a natural transition from yarn to other arts and crafts. Featuring the laid back atmosphere the series is typically known for mixed with enjoyable level design, Yoshi’s Crafted World is yet another delightful entry in the series that is great for families and solo players alike.

Yoshi’s Crafted World is exactly what I needed, when I needed it. I could turn off my brain and just have a good time. Nintendo excels at that. While it can get repetitive after a while, it never wears out its welcome. I loved collecting everything in the game and the hours I spent with it were joy-infused. The entry price might be a bit steep, but the Nintendo quality never fails to deliver.

Yoshi’s Crafted World is a stable, enjoyable adventure that brings enough of a twist to the expected Yoshi adventure to make it stand apart in a way no Yoshi platformer has done in years. It has a few blemishes along the way, but just break out the duct tape and stick that cardboard back up so you can romp your way through this delightful easy-going platformer.

Even though it’s simplicity and gentle difficulty curve might turn off those looking for a meatier challenge, Yoshi’s Crafted World is far from underwhelming. Good-Feel isn’t afraid to introduce unique mechanics in one stage, only to abandon them for an entirely new gimmick in the next. which is enough to keep players young and old from fizzling out before the journey is over.

Yoshi's Crafted World is at its best when it's relaxing and pleasant. The 2D-to-3D level design keeps you curious while the go-at-your-own-pace approach keeps the pressure off and leaves you to appreciate the small, imaginative details. Its most interesting ideas never evolve past their first introductions and are frequently confined to one or two levels, but individually, those levels both reward your curiosity and your willingness to slow down and look at what's around you--and it's those simple pleasures that provide the most joy.

Not only have they created a Yoshi game that convincingly pulls the series out from under the ever-widening shadow of Super Mario World 2: Yoshi’s Island, but they have also managed to prop it securely on its own aspirational eye-candy pedestal as a result. This Nintendo Switch exclusive is a stunning visual brainstorm of imagination, color, and creativity. With so much to see and do long after the credits roll, you’d be hard pressed to find anything quite as ingeniously charming or damn right adorable.

The visuals in Yoshi's Crafted World speak for themselves. Every corner you turn presents something new to wonder at. The game's a bit on the easy side, but that's not necessarily a bad thing if you accept Yoshi titles are more about exploration and collecting than serious platforming. It's a great little "spring game" that should fill out your Switch library nicely.

Yoshi’s Crafted World is one of Yoshi’s stronger adventures. There are still a couple of missteps that keep it from being a top-tier Switch exclusive, but it’s still pretty great and works as both a casual gaming experience and a more hardcore one as well. From start to finish, Yoshi’s Crafted World is a solid platformer, and it’s a worthy addition to anyone’s Switch collection.

Every Yoshi’s Crafted World review found on the web is overly positive and the game is living up to its hype. While it may not be the most challenging platformer by Nintendo, it is surely one of the cutest. The Switch version fits in the platform’s capability to deliver enhanced visuals nicely and it feels like the new age of Gameboy for sure.
Riley ConstantineApr 01, 2019
Yoshi’s Crafted World is still a pleasant surprise. I was just expecting a solid little platformer, but I was floored by Yoshi’s Crafted World’s sophisticated imagery, abundant heart, and charmingly fun level design. Whether playing solo or cooperatively, I’m looking forward to exploring more of Yoshi’s Crafted World and diving head first into that colorful trip.

Google defines cardboard as "lacking depth and realism; artificial," and that definition certainly feels true-to-form here. Yoshi's Crafted World has all of the components of a classic platformer game, but the entire experience just feels shallow. There's no doubt that children will have fun with it, and longtime Nintendo fans will jump on the chance for another strong dose of nostalgia, but there's not much to satisfy modern-era gamers otherwise.
Brian SheaMar 27, 2019
After a fun adventure through a world made of wool, Yoshi's transition to arts and crafts is a delight. With satisfying exploration, fun platforming, and a charming art style, Yoshi's Crafted World gives the Switch yet another strong platformer.
Chris CarterMar 27, 2019
Most of my journey through the wonderful cardboard universe of Yoshi's Crafted World, littered with myriad ridiculous noises from Yoshi, was spent with a smile on my face. It's not the type of project that's going to set the world on fire like Tropical Freeze, but it still has more heart than most studios could ever hope to give in their lifetime.
Heath Shusterman-ZimmermanApr 05, 2019
As a huge fan of the Yoshi series, in general, I can honestly say Yoshi’s Crafted World did not disappoint me. I really found the details behind the levels to be stunning and highly enjoyable – I can’t stress enough how creative it looks. Despite a few minor complaints here and there, fans of Yoshi games and platformers in general should give Yoshi’s Crafted World a go – there’s even a free demo, so there’s nothing to lose. I highly recommend the game to gamers who enjoy playing with their family or a young child. Although I had a few complaints here and there, it was nothing to make me not want to recommend the game.
Dave AubreyMar 27, 2019
Yoshi's Crafted World is a game utterly dripping with charm, but not that much challenge. It definitely can keep experienced and younger gamers occupied for hours, but this isn't a Switch essential. If you've got a soft spot for the green dino, then this might be worth your while. A great game for kids and younger gamers, but if you're looking for a challenging 2D adventure, this ain't it, chief.
Tom MarksMar 27, 2019
Yoshi’s Crafted World is an engaging and charming platformer that is absolutely worth playing, but it misses a clear opportunity to be more than that by not taking full advantage of its most clever ideas. It has enough creative collectibles to make completionists want to hunt down every last one, but I’m disappointed Crafted World didn’t challenge me more in the way its last few levels proved it could have. Of course, I still thoroughly enjoyed every adorable hour I spent with it.
Gavin LaneMar 27, 2019
It’s delightfully presented, though, and makes for another very solid entry in Nintendo’s ever-growing pantheon of material-based platformers – it takes extreme discipline to not overuse that word ‘charm’ while discussing it. So, if you’re looking to share a light-hearted platformer with the family, or simply relax in a big chair with a cup of something warm and a comfy pair of socks, be sure to have a spare pair ready – Yoshi's Crafted World will charm the ones you’re wearing right off.
James PaleyMar 27, 2019
Every level is begging for multiple play-throughs. Every chunk of cardboard and glitter feels lovingly placed and perfectly rendered. Although what you find won’t shock you, it will wrap you up in childish delight and fuzzy satisfaction. Yoshi’s Crafted World is an art class plate heaped high with sugary delights that I can easily recommend.
Chris "Atom" DeAngelusApr 02, 2019
All in all, Yoshi's Crafted World is a delightful adventure that is held back only by being a bit too predictable. It's a solid platformer for gamers of all ages, and it's easy enough for the youngest players but has enough charm to keep adults playing. It's also easily the best Yoshi game since the SNES original, and while it's difficult to live up to a classic, Crafted World does a good job on its own merits. Even if you're not a fan of Nintendo's multicolored dino-horse, it's worth giving Crafted World a shot. You might be charmed and surprised.
Kirstin SwalleyApr 01, 2019
In terms of gameplay itself, Crafted World is a great step-up from Woolly World. It feels closer to the original Yoshi’s Island, with some brand new quirks added in along the way. Every single stage in Crafted World feels like an entirely different idea come to life, which makes it all feel like a brand new adventure the moment Yoshi jumps in. While the music is a bit of a disappointment, it’s still enjoyable and light-hearted the whole time which fits the soft adventures of the wonderful crafted Yoshi.
Darryn BonthuysMar 27, 2019
There’s a certain tangible feeling to all the chaos that you’re capable of unleashing, a polish that is typical of Nintendo’s high expectations for what their most popular brands should be capable of delivering and the action never skips a beat. You could call this game a mix of arts and craftiness.
Jordan OlomanMar 27, 2019
The difficulty in recommending this game is that it’s an absolutely solid Nintendo platformer, but it doesn’t really do anything ambitious or use its conceit to great effect. I consistently wanted to soldier on to see what the next gorgeous world would entail, but when all was said and done, the experience felt slightly hollow, even if I’d had my eyes bleached by Yoshi’s cute capers.
Joshua BroadwellMar 31, 2019
The lack of challenge and the backtracking requirements to get to 100% might turn some people off. The fantastic visuals and attention to detail, combined with skillful, clever level building, and an unending barrage of new content and ideas make this not only the best Yoshi game in a long time, but also a masterpiece of design on par with the best the Switch has to offer. [Note: A copy of Yoshi's Crafted World was provided by Nintendo of America for the purpose of this review.]
Alex Santa MariaApr 12, 2019
Yoshi's Crafted World has a style that erupts off the screen, but it leans too far into simplistic gameplay. That's great for kids, but it's not the all-ages fun that Nintendo is known for.
Stephen LaGioiaApr 10, 2019
It offers an impressive variety of innovative concepts that keep things feeling fresh. At the same time, it adheres to the crisp and familiar mechanics - along with other cool nostalgic nods - found in the classic Yoshi’s Island. It’s quite the artistic marvel too, with its imaginative atmosphere and fine detail, making it one of the prettier games to grace a Nintendo platform. Yoshi’s Crafted World is a pleasant, enduring experience that platforming fans on the Switch shouldn’t miss.
Reuben MountMar 27, 2019
Yoshi’s Crafted World is not a difficult game, nor will it set the world alight, but that honestly is not the point. Like the handicraft games before it, it’s more of a showcase of the creativity of Nintendo if allowed free rein on a concept. It’s a gentle romp through ingenious and lovingly created little paper-craft projects, and it doesn’t need to be more than that.
Chris Hyde Mar 27, 2019
Simply play Yoshi’s Crafted World’s main levels, and maybe dip into reverse for some Poochy Pups if you fancy it, but certainly don’t sweat about getting everything. There’s still plenty to enjoy, and with that approach, you can enjoy the game’s trump cards which are undoubtedly the wonderfully creative levels full of their own unique style and personality. Yoshi’s Crafted World isn’t quite the perfectly crafted experience, but it is thoroughly enjoyable and hits that sweet spot where great design meets undeniable Nintendo charm.
David CaballeroMar 27, 2019
All things considered, although we weren't quite as taken with it as we were with Woolly World, Yoshi's Crafted World really stands on its own and, after a slow start, manages to deliver some truly fresh and varied platforming. If you consider yourself a completionist, or if you're just looking for a good, comprehensive platformer different to Mario and Donkey Kong, you shouldn't miss this one (even if you miss a few eggs at first).
Lachlan BruceApr 19, 2019
Yoshi is back with a pleasant and relaxing adventure. It tends to stay on the easy side, and co-op can be a frustrating endeavour, but for the most part Crafted World is a joy, and just plain fun.
Stefan LMar 27, 2019
Yoshi's Crafted World is simply lovely. The arts and crafts style is used in so many quirky little ways, the soundtrack lodges itself in your brain, and there's the same kind of laid back family friendly collectathon platforming that the series is now known for. Its one real new trick is its art style, sure, but that doesn't make it any less charming and wholesome.
Az EliasMay 05, 2019
Not Yoshi's best adventure to date, but it does a sufficient job of being a kid friendly 2D platformer with an appealing visual style that lends itself well to crafting some interesting levels. Sadly, things can get a bit tiresome, and older gamers may find themselves rushing through to the end of stages in no time. Seek challenge elsewhere, because you won't find it with Yoshi's Crafted World. The quality is there, as expected of a Nintendo-developed title, but it is too simple for its own good.
GameCentralMar 27, 2019
In that, and many other ways, Yoshi’s Crafted World is a success, but it still feels like it’s coasting along, never really bothering to push itself or its concept as far as it can go. That’s resulted in a game that’s very entertaining but one where more imagination seems to have gone into creating the backgrounds than most of the gameplay.
Jordan BiordiMar 27, 2019
Yoshi’s Crafted World is by no means a bad game. While I think younger audiences will enjoy the slower pace and more relaxed atmosphere, older players may feel the lack of challenge, and like me, get bored, pretty quickly. There’s definitely a lot to enjoy, but there’s definitely a feeling that something is missing.
A.J. MaciejewskiMar 27, 2019
Yoshi's Crafted World is one of the cutest games that you'll ever play but it's incredibly easy to the point where it becomes unengaging. That being said, the amount of variety and replay value is top-notch and that makes the familiar gameplay really shine.
Eli PalesMar 27, 2019
On the whole, Yoshi’s Crafted World is an excellent platformer worth picking up for any Switch owner. It’s a beefy experience, with lots of levels to beat and items to explore. The art style is unique and the levels innovative. While the bosses and music aren’t perfect, they do little to detract from the overall experience. Yoshi’s Crafted World is well worth playing with friends or alone.Disclaimer: The code for Yoshi’s Crafted World was provided for review by Nintendo.

Yoshi's Crafted World is another successful main game Switch debut for one of Nintendo's favourite characters and is wonderfully accessible for every kind of gamer. The games adorable art style is a joy to behold, and it's always fun to play with a friend in co-op. It may not be perfect, but it's a lovely little adventure that should be experienced by all fans.
Shannon GrixtiApr 01, 2019
Yoshi's Crafted World is a fantastic reminder of what makes Nintendo games great. At a time when other publishers are adding more and more into their games, Nintendo has shown that creative levels and an incredibly cute art style is all you need for a good time.
Steve WrightMar 28, 2019
That’s not to say normal levels aren’t good, they’re just rather bland. They’re safe, much like the game itself. Yoshi’s Crafted World is not going to win any awards, but it’s enjoyable nonetheless. Things are easy for far too long before ramping up near the end; I wish that challenge was present throughout more of the levels. If you’re after a cute time rather than a genre-defining one, this’ll work just fine.
Sergio MeleroMar 27, 2019
Y no decepciona.
