Welcome to a world where woollen creatures once lived in peace. Stuffy is a well-meaning but rather clumsy stuffed animal that wanders the world alone. Woven provides a pleasant experience with a nicely narrated story that will be very well suited to young children. While the technical issues are likely to go unnoticed by the target audience, they are enough to ruin the experience for anyone who plays games regularly. There isn’t much here that the average gamer would find enjoyable. With that being said, for parents looking for a game to introduce their children into gaming, you couldn’t find a better game than this.
I really wanted to like Woven as colourful 3D sandbox adventure games are way too scarce in modern gaming. However with the mundane gameplay, unfocussed visuals and frustrating world design, it was like taking a bite out of a shiny apple only to find that it had gone bad inside. Its saving grace has to be the narration and lighthearted approach, but whether that’s worth the price of admission is up to you.
