Based on the best-selling comic by Robert Kirkman, Thief of Thieves: Season One is a story of heists and the people behind them. It’s time for Celia, protege of master thief Redmond, to make the leap from apprentice to master. A botched job takes Celia to Europe, where she joins a new team of criminals for a crime spree. Get to know your team, choose your approach on the field, but be careful – the choices you make may have drastic consequences.  A new continent and a new team, will you make the cut?

If you’ve never played Thief of Thieves: Season One, then Switch is as good a format to pick it up on as any. The blurriness of the visuals isn’t ideal and it still feels a bit rough around the edges overall, but welcome gameplay tweaks are a valuable counterpoint, ensuring you have the best experience that you possibly can with Celia. With its interesting story and a variety of unique ideas Thief of Thieves: Season One is bound to entertain. Just don’t expect it to make a lasting impact on you, because it won’t.

Thief of Thieves: Season One offers a good crime thriller with superb writing, but is bogged down by janky AI and a serious lack of polish in its gameplay sections. For those fans of the comic or those looking for just the story aspects you might have something worth looking at here, but stealth fans should look elsewhere.

Thief Of Thieves: Season One almost seems like a game of many faces. Is it a stealth game, or a point-and-click adventure game or the next Telltale Games' successor? There's no fault in trying to be all three things. Unfortunately, this Nintendo Switch port created some flaws that make total enjoyment difficult. The biggest being the blurry graphics, especially when docked and played on a monitor. Nevertheless, avid comic book fans will find the motivation to push ahead just to see the lovely comic book art and hear these loved characters given form by some great voice acting!
