About this game

Developer: MAGES. Inc.
Content Rating: Mature

STEINS;GATE ELITE is fully remastered with animated scenes from the anime, creating a perfectly new, immersive experience. The game follows a rag-tag band of tech-savvy young students who discover the means of changing the past via e-mail using a modified microwave. Their experiments in pushing the boundaries of time begin to spiral out of control as they become entangled in a conspiracy surrounding SERN, the organization behind the Large Hadron Collider, and John Titor, who claims to be from a dystopian future.

While the original VN still has its place due to the much more organic inclusion of the phone trigger system, for every other purpose Steins;Gate Elite is now the de facto definitive version of the story. Even if you think you've already had your fill of the story, you might be surprised just how much the changes in Elite elevate the experience.

Steins Gate Elite also has an elite price tag. It’s plain ridiculous to put $60 price for a 4 years old game. If you have a PS Vita alive somewhere, or you don’t mind playing on mobile, then it might be better to try the original game. Or you can watch the entire anime on Netflix or better Crunchyroll, they have a Zero season too.

Steins;Gate is already one of the most dynamic visual novels, and the added anime cutscenes of the Elite version makes it worth exploring. If you can handle a main character who is extremely delusional and doesn’t have a filter… you’re probably comfortable dealing with me. Either way, Steins;Gate Elite is the best pure visual novel we’ve got right now.
