Rayman Legends is my favorite video game of all time simply because it makes me come back to play, even though I’ve 100%ed it twice. The platforming is extremely smooth and responsive, the animation and art style are insanely charming, it’s fun when in single player & multiplayer, and it has incentive to come back and play (Cosmetics, Online Modes, etc.). If I had to compare this game to another 2D platformer it would be Fancy Pants. Rayman Legends is just a more refined and content packed Fancy Pants. If you like platformers, please pick this game up. You’ll love it, your kids will love it, and everyone will love it. Hell, you can play it wherever you go! This is a must buy title for the Nintendo Switch!

Lack of new content notwithstanding, Rayman Legends: Definitive Edition is, at least for this moment in time, one of the best 2D platformers on the Switch. The level design and varied gameplay are top notch, the graphics and music are beautiful and I’m really amazed by just how much there is to unlock and accomplish in the game -- we’re talking dozens of hours of content.
Maybe I nitpicked Definitive Edition into oblivion, but there isn't a justification for such a wonky product that's the latest in a long line of ports.
Rayman Legends: Definitive Edition is a tough game to review. On the one hand, it’s still a fantastically creative platformer with plenty of content to offer and an easy recommendation for anyone yet to experience this adventure. On the other, though it’s yet another version of a game we’ve seen plenty of times already with little to offer returning players especially at its higher price point.
