The adventure mode is the true winner here, as the unbridled mayhem keeps up a solid pace, only really faltering in the back half as it gets just a tiny bit long in the tooth. Pig Eat Ball is a ridiculous and preposterous game that is thoroughly unique, even if it often wears its arcade inspirations on its sleeves. That all being said, it’s a delightfully quirky experience that calls to mind throwback game concepts in a post-modern way.
While boring at times, Pig Eat Ball is a fun puzzle game that manages to bring the players in with its basic mechanics and interesting world and characters.
With cake-faced rulers, talking clams, and vomit-spewing hogs, Pig Eat Ball is certainly a weird game, but it shines because of that. Things can start to feel repetitive though when playing for prolonged periods and we were disappointed by the absence of the user-created build mode on consoles, but if you think you can stomach the repetition, we are sure that you will get a lot out of this quirky retro-inspired indie.
