I can’t say I get a lot of the hype that Limbo garnered when it released nearly a decade ago, but maybe that’s because the industry has diversified since then. It may not be the best indie game on the Nintendo eShop, and I’m willing to bet Playdead’s other Nintendo Switch release, Inside, might be the better buy, but that’s in no way meant to say that Limbo isn’t worth playing. While it might not seem as amazing now as it did 8 years ago, Playdead’s iconic platformer is more than worth playing through once.

Finishing up, I want to talk about some technical details concerning the game’s port to the Switch. First and foremost, the gameplay is completely identical to the original 2010 release. If you, for some reason, wanted to play the game like you would on the mobile version, you’re out of luck.

Limbo remains a brilliantly moody and expertly poised platform-puzzler a full eight years on from its original release. It might be a little stark, but it's dense with ingenious physics puzzles and weighty platforming challenges. It's the perfect cut-price companion piece to Inside, and a brilliant game in its own right.
