Creating your own character in a series about creativity is bland and pointless, having to select preset combinations of powers and only having access to parts of unlocked characters. This plus some severe and unexpected framerate issues – the game crashed my Switch for the first time – make this a title that leaves me disappointed. Travelers Tale can do better than this, and knocking $10 off is an insult.
Lego The Incredibles lacks the amount of creativity you would expect from a Lego experience and instead feels like all the previous games – just this time it’s themed to the latest Disney film. This is not necessarily a bad thing, but playing through I just expected more.
I enjoyed playing through the game, but felt some of the questionable decisions and creaking technology kept it from achieving its potential. It's quite good for a licensed product, and can be fun for a couple of kids to play together, or for a parent to play with their child. It just isn't anything special, and in a game all about being Incredible, that's kind of a letdown.
