"Ys II," an action RPG released by Nihon Falcom in 1988, with its catchphrase "From kindness to excitement." Known for its well-crafted storyline, user-friendly game system, and refined sound, the game became a major hit. Even today, with new releases, the name "Ys" is familiar to many gaming enthusiasts.

In this game, Adol Christin, the red-haired adventurer who collected the six Books of Ys in the previous game, is guided to the sky world by the magic of the books. Here, he delves into the mysteries of the ancient kingdom of Ys.

Retaining the simple gameplay style of physical attacks from the previous game, Ys II introduces the additional element of magic, making battles more dynamic. The inclusion of movement magic expands the narrative scale without compromising the pace of the adventure, adding excitement to the game.

Among the magical elements, the ability to "converse with monsters" stands out.
This essential magic is integral to advancing in the game, offering glimpses into the daily lives of diverse and interesting monsters.

Notable improvements include faster processing speed compared to the previous game, automatic position correction when entering doors, the use of kanji characters in messages, and minor yet thoughtful changes. The game features a thrilling opening animation, more dramatic event scenes, and unique, intense boss battles. With its evolutionary enhancements, "Ys II" lives up to the expectations set by its predecessor.

Playing both games together amplifies the overall enjoyment. For those seeking a high-quality action RPG experience, "Ys II" is highly recommended.

A sightless warrior’s world is that of intimate detail: An enemy’s, rasping breath; a foot shifts on swampy ground; the crack of steel on leather. The Vale is a audio based action adventure game that sets out to breathe new life into medieval combat.

Violet Wisteria sees the return of Japanese style 80s and 90s fantasy platformers as you take control of Wisteria Asagiri to save not only Earth but the Higher Realm and Under-Realms as well. Master the 3 color attack system to overcome a myriad of obstacles and enemies. Travel across multiple dimensions to thwart the wizard Maskandes' sinister plot. With presentation inspired by heroine platformers like Valis and Alisia Dragoon, and gameplay influenced by classics like Silhouette Mirage and Ikaruga, only the most determined will be able to see the heart wrenching finale.

Violet Wisteria's claim to fame is its tri-color attack gimmick, which can be likened to rock-scissors-paper but with colors instead of symbols. Wisteria can execute three different colored sword attacks, and enemies appear at random in palette swaps of the same three colors. Learning to use the correct color attack against the correct color enemy is key to progressing, and stage obstacles will also require using this attack system in a variety of ways. This isn't a game where you can just start mashing buttons and perform melee combos, it requires precision and quick judgements.

With 8 stages of carefully crafted platforming and intricate boss fights, Violet Wisteria will present just the right challenge for those looking for a fresh take on a tried and true genre. Immerse yourself in the 16 bit aesthetic and remember a time when video games were pure magic.
