All told, 60 Seconds! is a disappointing addition to Switch's growing library and one that we would recommend you take a pass on. Although the idea at its core isn’t half bad, there’s very little here that we would say is done well, and given that there’s no shortage of excellent games on the Switch eShop, you’d be better off spending your money on something else.
The difficulty that 60 Seconds! has lies in maintaining your interest after the first few times that your family’s mental state descends into crazed madness. Challenge mode will reward you with items for collecting specific items and family members before descending into the vault, perhaps a realisation that the game’s frantic opening is where it is at its most entertaining. Whereas the Classic mode will let you select between different difficulties – Little Boy, Fat Man, and Tsar Bomba – and whether you want to do the scavenge part, survival part, or both.
60 Seconds! breaks the nuclear apocalypse setting into two instances. In one of them, you’ll follow the intriguing day-to-day tale of a normal family surviving through hideous events. Unfortunately, you must endure 60 seconds of a broken and annoying scavenge run to get there.
