When this game showed up in trailers and on game news sites my expectations were high. Sadly, it didn't meet my expectations.

Let's start with the story. The concept of vampires taking over the town of Redfall and you must find a way to escape is cool. Sadly, the gameplay hampered my will to continue any further.

The controls are simple. I played it on the Series X and it has the usual controls for any first-person shooter game.

The graphics are stale. The shadows and lighting are horrible in the open world. However, in caves or tunnels, the lighting and shadows are decent so it kinda puzzles me as to what the developers or designers were thinking.

Also, the challenge is crazy. I don't mean that it's hard. I mean that it can be confusing. You can encounter a vampire and its AI is braindead so you can just kill it with ease. But at times you can encounter an enemy gunman and he can shoot you through a tree. That's right, you can take cover behind a tree and still take damage. I tested this again by shooting an enemy behind a bush (not a tree, a bush), and guess what, the enemy took no damage. Extremely unfair and bad design.

The open world is boring, drab, and dull and it just made me feel depressed playing the game.

All in all, the game isn't worth playing. You can try it but why waste time doing so when you can play other games better out there.
