**SOUND/VISUALS 10/10**

From the choppy computer interface images to the distorted sounds of audiologs from comms, Alien Isolation's opening, without a doubt, is a skin-crawling yet an evident homage to Ridley Scott's Alien film. This is a game where the audio and visuals were well paid attention to. It seemed like all detailsl have been taken into account, they might as well have just isekai-ed you to an Alien universe. The sound effects were astonishing that even when I close my eyes, I feel as though I'm on the Sevastopol itself (not that I'm actually wishing for that death sentence) and the art design hits that sweet spot for painting the perfect environment of a space station - we've never been to one but somehow we would agree that "Yes, this IS what it would look like". They were even very generous in giving small details like: specs of dust floating in the air to signify malfunctioning or unoperational ventilation system, the fog/stream in winding hallways, beeps from random equipment here and there. Yes, all these may seem small and insignificant, but they played an important role on adding to the game's ambiance. Knowing that most of what you see and hear are all purposefully placed elements is beyond satisfying and comforting - the attention they've given in the game's creation for our experience.

**INTERFACE 6/10**

Okay, we're dealing with Aliens, yes? So it is given that these things are unpredictable, literally and figuratively. Heed my warning, ladies and gentlemen, crouching underneath a hospital bed and keeping quiet is not a guaranteed get-away card. Your hunter may or may not notice you - it is annoying but I believe that is what adds to the experience of being where our character, Amanda, is. My only gripe however, as a newbie, is that the interface of anything, is anything but friendly. We already have xenomorphs to amp up for its diffculty, then why must our crafting menu add to it? It may be just me nit-picking, but there was just little to no guide when figuring these things out. Again, for newcomers, some guide (without us having to put the game down to google anything) would be helpful.

**GAMEPLAY 8/10**

This is not for those who have anxiety. Trust me, it will only add up to it. Alien Isolation paints true horrors and you will feel it through Amanda. Say goodbye to speedrunning, if you're into that (or if you're one of the rare breed of people who would, you have my blessings). The beginning could feel like a drag as you are still new and trying to figure out what are the counter meaures you could do when facing various situations with your hunter/s and ultimately, all you CAN do is hide. As the game progresses, you will be able to craft more and better familiarize what is around you to use for your advantage. If this game taught me anything it is that I need to be patient and learning is essential.

**OVERALL 8.5/10**

Alien Isolation definitely remains true to the classic horror the films' have been very well known for. Like the other games I've played, I was initially captured by the world even when it toys with our anxious side. If you have been a fan of the movies, try to pay this one a visit and see how'd you'd do in the situation. After playing this game a few times, it never fails to make me want to watch a movie and bounce back to the game. And for speed-runners, this requires attentiveness! Else it will quickly pull you into a halt and regulate your pace - if anything you don't play this game, **it plays you.**
