As someone who played the original Resident Evil 3 on PS1, I was looking forward to the remake, but ultimately found it lacking in a few key areas. While the game's visuals are impressive and demonstrate both artistry and technical merit, the actual gameplay mechanics feel somewhat underwhelming. The controls and interface are serviceable, but don't provide the level of accessibility and polish that players might expect from a modern horror game.

The sound design is decent, with well-crafted music, sound effects, and vocals, but it doesn't quite hit the same level of intensity as the original. In terms of mechanics, the game's feedback is solid, but there isn't quite enough variety to keep players engaged throughout the relatively short playtime.

The narrative is engaging, but some of the choices made in the remake might not sit well with fans of the original game. While I appreciate the nostalgia factor of revisiting locations and characters from the PS1 version, the game could have benefited from more content to flesh out the experience and make it more worth the price.

Overall, while the Resident Evil 3 Remake is a decent horror game that offers some engaging moments, it doesn't quite live up to the expectations set by its predecessor or other modern horror games. As someone who played it on PS5 and had also experienced the original game, it was a somewhat nostalgic experience, but one that ultimately left me wanting more.
