After all the hype Berseria left me with that amazing ending, I was really impatient to play Arise. I have to say, this is the pinacle of the combat and graphics of all the Tales series. It was gorgeous, but still feels like a Tales game (because it still doesn't have assets you would expect for a modern game, like "tangible" grass or models for objects, they're the same sparkles every Tales has). The OST was really good but there are times they it tries so hard to sound epic even when it doesn't need to. Now, the best of this game is the combat. It's awesome, combines perfectly the spammeable skills and the frenetic moves Berseria had with technical combat. The EX skills are incredible, and it was really hard at times, specially the bosses... the Lord of Cyslodia kicked my ass a lot of times.

Now the story... well, it was a total mess. The first 15-20 hours are just fine, a classic heroes vs vilains story... but after that it had so many plot twist it turned ridiculous, to the point you never know who was the real mastermind behind everything. The characters are likeable (Kisara and Dohalim are my favorites) but some changes in their minds don't feel that natural.

This game was highly influenced by FFVII Remake, the "skill tree" and some characters are almost cloned.

Still a really good game, highly recomended for JRPG fans, just don't expect a good story.
