**Psychonauts 2** is one of those games that surprised me. I honestly expected the game to have a mediocre story, bland simple characters, and straightforward gameplay that only involves jumping from platform to platform and using a few mind tricks/attacks. But, I was proven wrong.

This game is close to being a masterpiece. Let’s start with the graphics.

The **graphics in** this game is mediocre, kinda like something from older games from previous gens. But the character designs stand out. From the wacky-looking Dr. Loboto to the sinister Maligula, you feel joy and excitement when meeting new characters throughout your gameplay.

Next, **the sounds**. The game has such excellent music. Everything fits well on what particular event Raz is put into. From the gambling theme in Lady Luctopus Casino to the Grulovia anthem that endlessly chants in Malik’s insane mind, you feel as if playing every stage is like an episode of a famous cartoon show instead of some game.

As for the **gameplay,** it plays like just any other ordinary platform game, but with a twist. Your mind powers come to their full potential in specific events. An example would be that some enemies are susceptible to pyrokinesis while in some events, telekinesis will work better.  The gameplay also involves a lot of collecting. It's a collect-a-thon. So you will be extra busy checking every corner in every stage you are in to see if you have missed any collectibles.

And finally, **the story.** The story is what carried the game for me. I won't be putting any spoilers, but I believe that this game pulled the best twist. You will not see it coming. Mix it with the most interesting and wacky characters ever and it's a match made in heaven.

If you have an itch to play an adventure/platform game, play Psychonauts 2. It is a near-perfect game and shouldn't be missed.
