Item: Axiom Verge 2
Rating: 7.5

Instead of the action-heavy, challenging H.R. Giger / Metroid / Blaster Master love letter that we got with _Axiom Verge_, here we get a slightly more relaxed, deeply atmospheric, puzzle centric nonlinear platformer. The biggest wins here are the music and visuals, which are an absolute treat for the senses and owe as much to La-Mulana as they do The Legend of Zelda and Symphony of the Night, as well as the very unique layering of two game maps, making the player weave in and out of the two realities to progress through the game's various puzzles and diverse map regions.
