"Dome Keeper" is a game that blends mining, survival, and tower defense elements within a roguelike structure. Developed by Bippinbits and published by Raw Fury, it has received positive feedback for its fun gameplay and artistic design, although I've noticed that it could use more content and variety.

In "Dome Keeper," you're tasked with protecting a dome from alien attacks while searching for resources and upgrades. The gameplay is simple yet engaging, suitable for both quick and lengthy sessions. Careful management of upgrades and resources is crucial, as mistakes can lead to quick defeats, adding a strategic layer to the experience.

However, I've observed that the game tends to feel repetitive over time. There's a noticeable lack of variety in enemy types and the underground environments look similar across different sessions, which might reduce its long-term appeal as the excitement of discovering new challenges fades. I like the newly released [roguelike Ocean Keeper game](https://retrostylegames.com/games/ocean-keeper-roguelike-survival-game/) much better in that sense

Default game without DLCs currently offers two main characters: a telepath and a digger. The telepath's strong abilities contrast with the less impressive digger, leading to a gameplay imbalance. This tends to make the telepath a dominant choice, diminishing the incentive to play as the digger.

"Dome Keeper" does feature different difficulty levels and a dynamic upgrade system that could vary the gameplay. Nonetheless, the inherent repetitiveness on normal settings and the limited character options without mods or DLC can make extended play sessions monotonous.

Overall, "Dome Keeper" is a commendable effort from a small team and stands out in its niche. It's highly enjoyable for short bursts or when played casually. However, those seeking a deeper and more varied experience might find it lacking, unless future updates introduce additional content and features.
