So this game has a special place for me, being a complete overhaul of what was my first console game built in to my Master System.

My issue is, a bit like Link's Awakening remake. It kind of all got a bit cheesed up in the remaster/remake.

It's a very basic game at heart and probably not going to be great for someone who didn't game in that era.

There is some fun to be had here and worth picking up on the cheap. Whilst I said they cheesed it up, and they did (the graphics look a bit too childish), they still made it look nice. They seemed to miss the tone of the game in doing so though.

I'm trying to keep it real here and not let nostalgia take over. If you like an old school platformer, then it's well worth a look and a cool little game. When you take a look at platformers we've had since this era like Mario Galaxy, Tiny Kin, Gianna Sisters, to name a few, then this game just pales in comparison. It shows its age and there are just too many platforming experiences available these days that out shine it.

I don't know if I'm being a bit harsh with a 4 but I got it really cheap and think if you can get it at a good price then give it a go. It's certainly not a 0/10 waste of time but it's too old at its core for todays gaming world.
