This was a game I was looking forward to since a State of the Play ran a trailer for it months ago. It looked like the type of stress free game experience that could be brimmingg with creativity if done right, slightly reminding me of the Untitled Goose Game.

Well, technically that's exactly what it is.

Gameplay is really simple and if you look for a challenge and too brainy puzzles this might not be a good game for you. It's basically like one of those slightly more adult-oriented absurd cartoons - you know the likes of Rick and Morty, Solar Opposites, Inside Job, Adventure Time etc. but caked in british humor. Gameplay really just boils down to walking around the town with some non-consequential jumping and slapping.

Yeah, it's kinda one of those games that as long as you keep going, you will eventually beat it. You just have to find the way forward. Perhaps that might make it a bit dissapointing for kinds of players.

Personally I loved it. The british humor and at times bizarre scenarios was what kept me going throughout and I will still be laughing at some of the jokes for months to come. The town is colourful and you meet a bunch of interesting characters along the way. You yourself are a tiny yellow business man going for a business trip, but who due to the lack of patience waiting for the mayor decides to just go off and do side missions instead. One story leads into another and I guess it's only the limited time of the developers and eventual depletion of creative energy that leads the game ending. The story is fun in an episodic nature and how one scenario opens up another, but at the end of the day it's not a game leading up to a big climax.

Regardless of how much the game is more like an immersive cartoon than a meticulously gamified challenge, I have had a fun time with it and look forward to future projects by Coal Supper. By all means if western adult animation is up your alley and you want an easy game with some good laughs, give it a shot.
