To begin with, I’m reviewing this game primarily for its story mode and significant gameplay changes. I’m currently playing it and aiming to achieve a platinum rating.

Mortal Kombat 1 features a rather perplexing plot in terms of its story mode. While it claims to be a complete reboot, it also references past Mortal Kombat games. It feels as though the game picks up from the plot of MK11 Ultimate.

However, the storytelling in the story mode is somewhat compelling. Even if you’re new to the game, it’s easy to comprehend. Personally, I find the overall plot confusing.

Playing this game on a PS5 is an absolute delight. The graphics are incredibly detailed and almost lifelike. Mortal Kombat is renowned for its gory fatalities and brutalities, and experiencing them on a PS5 is truly something else.

In terms of mechanics, Mortal Kombat 1 differs from previous titles. Although the movesets and combos remain the same, you can definitely feel that this installment is more fluid with simplified controls.

Overall, Mortal Kombat 1 is a good reboot but has a confusing story plot. Graphics are insane, The level of details are phenomenal and the fighting mechanics are much more refined and fluid.
