Before I played this game, I hesitated. I never heard any gamer mention a great or memorable fishing game. But, I simply had to try it. I do love fishing in real life and I miss it as well. So, I hoped for this game to meet my standards. And it did.

Successfully catching fish will help raise your rank as well as the performance of any currently used gear. This makes it rewarding and provides a power growth based on your time spent.

The controls are easy to master which makes fishing fun. Which is good cause that is what you will be doing for most of the time in The Angler.

The game has an open world for you to explore complete with a day-to-night cycle. The day-to-night cycle will come into play when hunting specific fishes since some are only available in the morning and others at dusk.

The open world itself is quite a beauty. Despite its simple graphics, it provides a sense of calm. It felt like being in a park reserve on vacation.

There is little to no background music, however, it has a near-perfect ambiance that makes you feel like you are really the outdoors.

There are challenges to do such as catching specific species of fish that are ranked by size or taking photos of specific points of interest for the Park Reserve.

All in all, it's a very relaxing and fun game. It is also available in GamePass so that's a plus to anyone who has it. I still continue to play this game and I'm loving it.
