I'll start with the good part: this game has the best story-telling and desicion-making I've seen in any game. But, I'd say that's one of the probably only three things I find it good, along with nice puzzles, and good Gwent online game rewards. Now the bad stuff: gameplay is repetitive and easily breakable with certain combos even in the highest difficulty. And, for people that do not like reading at all, this is definitely not your game. I enjoyed it, but I would only reccomend it to someone looking for a good story with interactions than someone who wants a good game.

Thronebreaker: The Witcher Tales features some of the sharpest writing on PS4, and it's all embedded within a superb story stuffed with brilliant characters. Meanwhile, Gwent makes up most of the gameplay, and although the card-based system does have flaws, it's easy enough to look past them when the surrounding journey is so masterfully told. Ultimately, Thronebreaker is an easy recommendation for Witcher enthusiasts and fans of strategic RPGs -- a surprisingly robust and rich tale that shouldn't be overlooked.
The Witcher games have been well-received and well-loved by the video game community, much to the chagrin of the novelist responsible for the hit series. While the story of Meve’s journey to reclaim her kingdom is one I’m enjoying, the experience is ruined by these continuous Gwent crashes. If only I could outright skip them from the very beginning of the match instead of once I’d already been defeated! If only we got to hack and slash through those big fights Diablo-style instead of Gwent.
Thronebreaker: The Witcher Tales is a breath of fresh air not just for the digital card game genre but for the RPG genre as well. CD Projekt Red has once again shown that it can push boundaries with storytelling and worldbuilding and this single-player experience truly is impressive in all senses of the word. It's a 30+ hour campaign too, so get stuck in - we highly recommend it.
