Your adventure with your eagle friend is full of subtle emotional depth, and its world building is an incredible example of telling a straightforward story in a confident, complex way. There’s a lot of hubbub going around about a lot of games right now, but The Pathless is absolutely deserving of your time and attention.
The overall story is good with performances from Laura Bailey and Troy Baker, the different environments are vast and beautiful, and while the puzzles have a wide range of difficulty, they’re still fun to figure out. It’s just a shame that there’s no synergy between each individual gameplay loop. The Pathless is absolutely worth your time if you’re looking for a game with a sense of adventure and a rich atmosphere.
Running through its main story takes less than ten hours, depending on how you play, but I wager I’ll be spending a lot more time exploring its world and taking on the activities that I blew past on my way to the credits. The Pathless is a beautiful game, and one that nobody should miss out on.
