More than most games, Project CARS is an experience that’ll treat you vastly differently depending on what expectations you bring and how much you’re willing to put into it. Diehard sim racers who love challenging themselves at every turn will likely be able to look past the quirks and lack of direction and have a great time. ...Here, however, the game once again apes that beastly sportscar: It’s a great fantasy, sure, but most of us would probably be happier and better off in a comfy sedan.

Project CARS features an excellent roster of cars and tracks, and delivers some of the most exciting and visceral racing action money can buy. It's not for everyone, since driving the game can be quite tough, even with all the assists turned on, but for those who are up for a challenge, few other racing games are as involving and potentially rewarding as this.

So far, however, Project Cars is an enjoyable and challenging sim, one that is as eager to keep you racing as you are to get back out there. Slightly Mad knows its strengths: the campaign structure, like the menus which serve it, is basic and functional. It offers three initial entry points: low-level, fighting for a championship, or going for a triple crown.
