There is a lot about this game that could have players finding new characters, ambitions of the daimyo’s and clans along with play styles for quite some time. While the tutorial system is fantastic as it does very clearly show what maneuvers should be made, for casual players of this genre, myself included, may find the learning curve to be a bit steep.
Nobunaga's Ambition: Taishi is an interesting, but painfully slow and uninvolving strategy game that I want to praise more, but in comparison to its contemporaries, I can't help but feel it still needs work. Shame, as the strategy flavor of Nobunaga's Ambition has always appealed to me, but in practice it feels sluggish and makes me yearn for strategy games I'll enjoy that much more.
It’s harder to recommend to long time series fans, though. Items that have made their way into the games have been excised again, making this feel less like the ultimate culmination of the series, but another reboot that’ll be built out in subsequent iterations. The new features, particularly the Resolve system, are cool, but the title still manages to feel incomplete. For those elite, it’s best to wait until the next version.
