Naruto Shippuden: Ultimate Ninja Storm 4 is easily one of the best entries in the series, and is arguably one of the greatest anime fighters to be released in some time. CyberConnect2's flair for creating stunning action scenarios is at its brightest in the game's superb story mode, but even when it's over, a hefty amount of content, both online and offline, and a thoroughly enjoyable, reworked combat system will see fans through well into the future.

Naruto Shippuden: Ultimate Ninja Storm 4 is fairly simple as a fighting game, and has evolved little mechanically over past iterations. Thankfully for me, it really didn't need to do either of those things. It's an extravagant, over-the-top spectacle where you get to watch teenage ninjas blow up chunks of the planet using magic attacks, and that's pretty cool.

Overall, this game was phenomenal and one of the best fighting games that I have ever played. Often with fighting games, the combo system can be hard to understand and nearly impossible to master, but none of those usual issues were present. The story was engaging, had no loose ends, and was a great end to the tale of Naruto

Naruto Shippuden: Ultimate Ninja Storm 4 refines the gameplay to the absolute best of the series and offers a large roster of playable characters. Unfortunately, it squanders all of that potential with a short and poorly presented campaign fought against buggy AI, a forgettable Adventure Mode and online matches that are plagued with connectivity problems. The Ultimate Ninja Storm series sadly does not end on a high note.

Naruto Shippuden Ultimate Ninja Storm 4 is certainly the best title to the series to date, and it is fitting for such a send off, not just as an anime genre fighter but a solid fighting game in general. While mostly tooled for Naruto fans, it does make a strong run at grabbing newcomers as well. Ultimate NInja Storm 4 gives us one hell of a show, and there is no doubt the show shall continue, albeit tailored for an unknown future.

Stunning to behold and hugely enjoyable to play, Naruto Shippuden: Ultimate Ninja Storm 4 can sometimes prove frustrating, but once you get to grips with it and master its combat, enjoying the blistering battles that ensue is a joy. Close to Six Paths Perfection, you might say.

Naruto Shippuden: Ultimate Ninja STORM 4 takes all of the elements that you enjoyed from prior titles and give you an updated roster, an improved combat system, and most importantly the end of the Naruto Shippuden story line. Though the Story and Adventure Modes might leave you wanting a bit more the fun and fast paced multiplayer makes this a great combat game to add to your collection.

Is it possible that the fourth version of a fighting game built on a simple control scheme could still be worth visiting? Yes, and the developer’s devotion to the series gives current fans and those who may get bit by the Naruto bug down the line a good reason to start the game up with friends again and again.

Naruto Shippuden: Ultimate Ninja Storm 4 should feel like a love letter to longtime fans, who will adore the enormous roster of 61 characters and breathtakingly beautiful visuals. On the other hand, the game shouldn’t be counted out for newcomers, either; while they might not enjoy the hackneyed shonen story elements or lack of tutorials, they’ll almost assuredly get a kick out of the hyperactive and highly variable fighting style.

The overall feeling I got while playing through Ultimate Ninja Storm 4 was that the people behind this game really, truly card about the franchise, and wanted to make a game that would please fans first and foremost. Everything, from the visual touches to the character interactions in and out of battle to the voiceovers, is meant to make Naruto fans happy--though the fact that there’s a fun little fighting game underneath certainly helps.

CyberConnect2 knows what their fans want in a Naruto game and have delivered for the most part. Ultimate Ninja Storm 4 has solid controls and an outstanding roster of characters, but suffers from too many flaws to allow the average gamer to drop $60 right now. Wait for this one to show up in a bargain bin because the few things added into the series at this point do nothing to make up for its shortcomings.

Taking what they’ve learned in the past from previous releases and expanded on it, gameplay has been fine tuned with some new features that fans will surely appreciate. It all compliments a presentation package that’s never looked better. Naruto Shippuden Ultimate Ninja Storm 4 rounds out the story for fans in one of the best looking and best playing entries in the series.

Naruto Shippuden: Ultimate Ninja Storm 4 is not a big improvement compared to the previous chapters. The series never really evolved all that much since the original, and even with this move to the new consoles, that fact remains. And has been the case in the past, Ultimate Ninja Storm 4 is a fairly mediocre fighting game, but a fantastic recreation of a Japanese animation.
Chris WhiteFeb 04, 2016
A phenomenal fighting game that offers lots of different modes to keep you busy, but one with an abundance of cutscenes and narrative throughout, which might not be everyone’s cup of tea.

Naruto Shippuden: Ultimate Ninja Storm 4 is a fitting finale for the game series and for fans of the anime. With a great range of content, a huge roster, and spectacular visuals, this is certain to be a hit with those who have a history with the franchise. Unfortunately for outsiders though it’s likely to remain a beautiful yet incomprehensible brawler.

Naruto Shippuden: Ultimate Ninja Storm 4 brings together the characters, the story arcs, and the heart that made the original anime so captivating. A casual fighter that puts fun before difficulty, and tries to be approachable rather than technical. While not an ideal starting point for someone new to Naruto, I don’t doubt it will be loved by long time fans. The Ultimate Ninja Storm series has reached a new height, and it makes for a fitting finale to the series.
GameCentralFeb 08, 2016
It’s fair to say that Ultimate Ninja Storm 4 still has more width than depth, but it’s clear that its primary goal is remaining true to its source material and being accessible to a non-gaming audience. But given those restrictions it does an admirable job of trying to please everyone, and may well earn new fans for the anime as well as the game itself.
William DixonMar 10, 2016
While there’s plenty more that a true fan would get out of this experience, as a bystander, there’s not much of a draw here for me. It’s a perfectly serviceable game with a fun combat system that’s both flashy and stylish. But most of the service is wasted if you’re not already an invested fan of the franchise.
John-Paul JonesFeb 11, 2016
Easily the best looking anime fighter on the market today, the fourth and final entry in the Naruto Shippuden: Ultimate Ninja Storm series proves to be a highly entertaining one as it parallels its stupendous presentation with substantial longevity and an easily accessible brawler.

Francisco Alberto Serrano AcostaFeb 04, 2016
